O’Brien Sixam 2 Point
![]() Sizes: 64.5", 66", 67.5", 69" Price: $899 (blank) Scores Speed 3.67 Turning 3.83 Stability 4.42 Carryout 3.58 Predictability 4.00 Overall Impression 3.92 The Sixam 2 Point is a wider version of the world record-holding Sixam 1 Point. This width gives the Sixam 2 Point a speed and stability advantage over most of the skis in the tests. The Sixam 2 is clearly in its element at 34 mph. Where the Sixam 1 encourages skiers to push for radical turns, the Sixam 2 allows smooth, arching turns and strong wake crossings. The Sixam’s notorious fin clamp makes fin adjusting much harder than necessary. “After a few adjustments, this ski works great.”—Keith Albritton “Very stable, but slow out of the turns…could not get the ski to finish.”—Tyler Scott “Felt comfortable right away. Even turns on both sides.”—Mike Erb “Carries speed through the turn, turns on a rail and can be pushed hard. The fin clamp is awful.”—Bruce Butterfield |
